Eleanor M. Phelps' Obituary
Eleanor M. Phelps, 82, of Vernon, CT, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Henry and Katherine (Andrelski) Rounds. Eleanor had worked at Phelps and Sons in Vernon, CT, and also as a “yellow jacket” usher for many years at UCONN sporting events. Eleanor was a devoted hardworking mother dedicated to raising her four children who meant the world to her. She was an avid Red Sox and UCONN fan and enjoyed being a softball coach for many years. She never missed any of her children’s sporting events. She loved her many travel adventures to Alaska, Women’s Final Fours, Colorado, Maine, Oak Island and trips to Florida with her best friend Sandie West. Eleanor “aka” Ellie, Cioci, Babcia and Phelps was always on the go having fun and enjoying the time she spent with everyone. She brought joy and laughter to all those around her and loved meeting new people everywhere she went. She was known to many as their adopted Mother, Grandmother and Cioci. She was a big part of so many people’s lives and will be dearly missed by all. Eleanor is survived by her children, Lisa Phelps and her spouse Denise Thibeault, Laurie Ferrari and her husband Buddy, Lynn Hodder and her husband Daniel, John Phelps and Julie Scanlon, and Robbie; grandchildren, Ella, Zofia, and Jack Phelps, along with Abigail and David; niece and nephews, Brian, Johanne, Alan, and their spouses; great nieces and nephews, cousins, neighborhood families, and many friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Fontanella. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, with a procession forming by 9:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
