Elia Rogledi's Obituary
Elia J. Rogledi, 88, of Gold St., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2009 at her home. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT on May 14, 1921, beloved daughter of the late Ernesto and Catherine (Biz) Rogledi. Elia worked locally for over 41 years at the former Cyril Johnson Woolen Mill and later at Loro Piana Industries as a material inspector. Elia was a very thoughtful, loving, and caring person. To know her was to love her. She was a member of St. Edward Parish. Elia will be truly missed by her three sisters, Electra Sacherek of Stafford Springs, CT, Guistina Sheiber of Somers, CT, and Marie Pelizari and her husband Roger of Stafford Springs, CT. She was predeceased by a sister, Melyna Della Giustina; and a brother, Tourido A. “Tweets” Rogledi. Elia had several beloved nieces and nephews, and a special nephew, Chris, with whom we vacationed with at Cape Cod for many, many years. He was the light of her life. Also, a special niece, Nancy, who would fix her hair and took her city shopping once a week. She will be sadly missed by her neighbors and friends, and her special care giver Stella. The family would like to extend their deep gratitude to the hospice staff at Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut. They were all so giving and caring. Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 28, 2009, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
