Elinor S. Kowalyshyn's Obituary
Elinor “Kitty” (Spusta) Kowalyshyn, 81, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 28, 1935 in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Paul and Bernice (Atchinson) Spusta. Elinor worked in the Meat Department at the Big Bunny Market in Stafford and at UConn Food Services in Storrs until her retirement. She was a member of the West Stafford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary from 1960 to 1967 serving as the first president from 1960 to 1962. She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, John Kowalyshyn, Jr.; her sons and their wives, Keith and Cheri of Niantic, CT, Scott and Leigh of Stafford Springs, CT, and Shawn and Kim of Willington, CT; her grandchildren, Luke, Jake and his wife Brittany, Shawn and his fiancé Kylie, Ashley and Kate. She was predeceased by a grandson, Brady. Family would like to thank the staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital and Home and Community Health Services of Enfield for their care. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in West Stafford Cemetery, Stafford, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at the funeral home.
