Elizabeth M. Martorelli's Obituary
Elizabeth M. Martorelli, 74, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Kreydatus) Zelonka. Prior to her retirement, Betty had worked at Aetna, Penny, Hanley and Howley, Mullen and Mahon, and then started her own business, Stafford Insurance. She was a member of St. Edward Church, and former president and member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Stafford Springs Fire Department. One of her greatest accomplishments, along with her husband, was starting Santa’s Toy Box for the Town of Stafford. Betty was awarded Citizen of the Year in 1999 and Citizen of the Month in January of 2002 for her exemplary dedication and service to the town. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert J. Martorelli, Sr.; four children, Deborah Bushey and her husband Mark, Robert J. Martorelli, Jr., Marc Martorelli and his wife Darlene, and Stacey Tilki and her husband Eric; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Andrew Zelonka and his wife Joan; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six siblings, Mary Zelonka, Catherine Duquette, Helen Zelonka, Anna Hurchala, John Zelonka, and Jacob Zelonka, Jr. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
