Ella Spiller's Obituary
Ella Spiller, 85, of Wales, MA, beloved wife of the late Laurice (Hank) Spiller, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2010 at her home. She was born in New Sharon, ME, daughter of the late Lawrence and Lena (Redlevske) Lavorgna. Ella was an ambitious hard-working woman who retired in 2008 at the age of 83 after 16 years with her last employer Evergreen Health Care Center from the position of laundry aid. Prior to her employment at Evergreen, Ella worked for 27 years at Roosevelt Mills in Rockville, CT. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 9990 Stafford Ladies Auxiliary. Ella had a great passion for Bingo and rarely missed a Friday night at the American Legion. Ella had a large loving family and was adored by them all and will be greatly missed. Ella is survived by a sister, Gloria Merritt of Clearwater Florida; her five children, Betty Sellers (predeceased by her husband Carl), Larry Spiller and his wife Andrea, Brenda Farrington and her husband Reggie, Donna McAnanama and her husband Jim, and Wanda Duquette and her husband Alan; 15 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 29 great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Ella was predeceased by two daughters, Sandra Scott and Lonna Mae Spiller; and a grandson Larry Sellers. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church, corner of Main St. and Church St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Evergreen Health Care Center Recreation Fund, 205 Chestnut Hill Rd., Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
