Ella Tarantino's Obituary
Ella Mary (Mattarelli) Tarantino, 85, of Mount Airy, NC, and formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved wife of the late Hector Tarantino, Sr., passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Northern Hospital of Surry County, Mount Airy, NC. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Artemio and Stefania (Martinetti) Mattarelli. Ella was a homemaker and volunteered at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She also volunteered for many years at Rockville General Hospital. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Ella is survived by her two children, Donald Tarantino and his wife Mary of Mount Airy, NC, and Donna Capello and her husband Michael of Ellington, CT; three grandchildren, Donnie Tarantino and his wife Michelle, Brandon Capello, and Laura Hanson and her husband Gary; two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Kaitlyn Tarantino; sister, Ann Rosi of Stafford Springs, CT; three brothers, Louie Mattarelli and his wife Beatrice of Vernon, CT, Mario Mattarelli and his wife Camile of Stafford Springs, CT, and Edmond Mattarelli and his wife Gloria of Suffield, CT; special family members Gary and Marcy Putnam of Concord, NC; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Hector Tarantino, Jr.; and brother, Henry Mattarelli. Funeral services with burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church, 1208 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
