Elnor Stearns' Obituary
Elnor Gean Stearns, 89, died peacefully at the home of her daughter in Ashford, CT on December 8, 2012. Gean was born in Detroit, MI and lived most of her life near Detroit. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Benjamin Stearns. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Sherrie Stearns of Overton, Nevada, daughter and son-in-law, Maribeth Stearns and Don LePore of Ashford, CT, grandchildren Jason Stearns and Jessica Davis, Emma and Max LePore, and great granddaughter, Alexis. Gean was very active in her church, St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church of Eastpointe, MI and with her close friends in the area. Always open to listening to others, not judging and affirming all, many found themselves in her living room throughout the years. She spent the "war years" stationed in Florida as a U.S. Navy WAVE and always enjoyed telling wonderful stories about that time in her life. A memorial service will be held in Michigan in the near future.
