Elsie Woods' Obituary
Elsie L. (Scotta) Woods, 99, lifetime resident of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved wife of the late Wilfred C. Woods, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2009. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, on November 8, 1909, one of eight children of the late John and Madeline (Lazzerin) Scotta. Elsie was a member of St. Edward Parish and the Stafford Senior Center. She loved playing cards, knitting and crocheting. Her grandchildren always looked forward to receiving the many mittens she made them. Elsie is survived by her three children, Joyce Sadlak of Vernon, Elaine Lake and her husband Robert Earle Lake of Stafford, and Bryan Woods and his wife Linda of Vernon; daughter-in-law, Christine Woods of Longmeadow, MA; 13 grandchildren, Patricia Sadlak and Rick Bradley, Diane and Ronald Stewart, both from California, Michael and Susan Sadlak of Coventry, Robert and Kelly Lake of California, Ronald and Patricia Lake of Stafford, Amy Lake and Albert Ginouves of Lakeville, Connie Lake and Ted Hopper of Stafford, Thomas and Darlene Lake of Vernon, Rebecca and Scott Annis of Massachusetts, Alicia and Steve Eddy of Massachusetts, Matthew and Chris Woods of Avon, Nicole Woods and Abu Kamruzzman of New York, and Anthony Woods of New Britain; 25 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Woods; four brothers, Elio, Bruno, Leo and Aldo; three sisters, Norma Scotta, Eva Bader and Olga Saunders; and son-in-law, Francis Sadlak. A celebration of Elsie's life will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2009, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
