Emery Galotto's Obituary
Emery A. Galotto, 88, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of the late Mary (Hanley) Galotto, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Romildo and Speranza (Strobino) Galotto. Emery was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After retirement from the Coop Food Store as produce manager, he managed the Station Newsroom owned by his son Marty for 14 years. He was a member of St. Edward Parish, Rev. Felix J. O’Neil Council #1395 Knights of Columbus, honorary life member of the Italian Benefit Society, Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, and the Stafford Senior Center. Emery is survived by his three children, Elaine Melnick and her husband George of Stafford Springs, CT, Thomas Galotto and his wife Debra of Stafford Springs, CT, and Marie Carcia and her husband Frank of Enfield, CT; seven grandchildren, Susan Melnick, Joseph and Kaitlyn Galotto, David and Michael Galotto, and Donna and Peter Carcia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Martin “Marty” Galotto; and grandson, Stephen Galotto. His funeral will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at the funeral home.
