Emily M. Hollay's Obituary
Emily M. (Hanic) Hollay, 88, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Rudolph W. Hollay, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Evergreen Health Care Center. Emily was born in Wales, MA, daughter of the late John and Stefania (Lucansky) Hanic. Emily was one of the founders of the Pinney School lunch program. She was also a member of St. Edward Parish. Emily is survived by her two sons, Rudolph L. Hollay of Stafford, CT, and Robin L. Hollay and his wife Sharon of Groton Long Point, CT; four grandchildren, Katherine Wilhelm and her husband Bryan, John Hollay and his wife Stephanie, Robin Campbell and her husband Brian, and Jeffrey Hice and his partner Stephen Superak; three great grandchildren, Joshua and Meghan Campbell, and Jack Wilhelm; a sister, JoAn Simpson of Wales, MA; and several nieces and nephews. Emily was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Hanic and his wife Sophia; John Hanic and his wife Dorothy, Mary Jane Allen and her husband Alec; Stephanie Hollay and her husband Joseph; Mildred Reynolds and her husband Charlie; Lolly Belcher and her husband Winston; and Emma Hanic; and brother-in-law, James D. Simpson. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, please take a friend out to lunch.
