Ernest R. "Bomber" Champagne's Obituary
Ernest R. “Bomber” Champagne, 87, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on January 15, 2022. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Henry and Jane (Barr) Champagne. Bomber retired from Hamilton Standard as a tool crib manager. He was a member of the Wolcott Lodge No. 60 A.F. & A.M., Rockville Elks #1359, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Melha Shriners (Springfield, MA), and Sons of the American Legion. Bomber loved anything that had to do with racing, especially NASCAR. He enjoyed his winters in Daytona, FL, drinking beer, smoking cigars, and hanging out with all his buddies. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Arlene Champagne; nephews and nieces, Joe, Jim, Lorry, and Cindy; and many great nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph H. Champagne. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 1:00-5:00 P.M. at the American Legion Post No. 26, 10 Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
