Ervin Thibodeau's Obituary
Ervin "Von" J. Thibodeau, 75, of Stafford Springs, CT, died peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT, after a battle with cancer. Von was born on October 12, 1933 in St. Francis, ME, son of the late Hector and Cecilia (Bouchard) Thibodeau. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He settled in Connecticut where he raised his family and worked as an iron worker for 40 years. Von attended St. Edward Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. A devoted husband and father, Von is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elizabeth 'Betty' Thibodeau; three children, Dale Thibodeau of Florida, Gaylen Thibodeau and his wife Karen of Union, CT, and Sheila Seavey and her husband Shane of Stafford Springs, CT; and four grandchildren, Kelly, Kristen, Devin, and Nathan. Along with his beloved family, he leaves two brothers, Wilbert Thibodeau of East Hartford, CT, and Eldon Thibodeau of Florida; three sisters, Nancy Hughes and Elsie Tardif both of Connecticut, and Judy Lockhart of Bangor, ME. He was predeceased by a brother, Martin Thibodeau. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2009, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
