Esther W. Clarke 'Ma' 'Duchess', 91, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved wife of the late Arnold S. 'Pine' Clarke, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. She was born in Manchester, CT, daughter of the late Milo and Flora (Strong) Wells. Esther retired as a receptionist having worked at Travelers and Immediate Medical Care. She was a member of the Daughter of the American Revolution. Esther is survived by her three children, Linda Duplin and her husband Bud of Manchester, CT, Art Clarke and his wife Barbara of Manchester, CT, and Prudy Trudeau and her husband Randy of Maine; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. A calling hour will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 1-2 P.M. with a funeral service at 2 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery, Putnam, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cornerstone Christian School, 236 Main St., Manchester, CT 06042, or to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
