Etta Frantz's Obituary
Etta Belle Frantz, 99, born in Climax, MI, to George Blaine and Mary Belle (Boyce) Bowman, passed from this life to her Eternal Home on December 10, 2011, at Alexandria Manor, Bloomfield, CT. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger Samuel Frantz; five siblings and their spouses, Clyde and Olive, Clifford and Marjorie, Anna Heath and Leonard, Donald and Rose, and Georgia Bender and Earl; a son, Roger Ferris Frantz; and two grandchildren, Cynthia and Clifford Frantz. She is survived by three siblings, Nellie Johnson, wife of the late Andrew, Max and his wife Joan, and Nina Barnes and her husband Dorman; two children; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. To complete high school, Etta left her parents' Michigan farm to board and work in town. When her mother died, Etta returned home to help care for her eight siblings. She married her high school sweetheart, Roger Frantz, in 1935. During his career with the U.S. Weather Bureau and the National Weather Service, Etta managed their home at postings in Michigan, New York and Connecticut. Their surviving children are Lynn David Frantz and his wife Lynn Jane of Chino Valley, AZ, and Marietta Raymond and her husband Michael of Powassan, ON, Canada. As well as loving her large family, Etta worshipped at the Church of the Nazarene and later with the Christian Fellowship of Windsor, CT. She enjoyed bowling with the Windsor Senior Sportsters. Heartfelt gratitude goes to the devoted and caring doctors and staff at Alexandria Manor. The family will receive visitors at the Westford Congregational Church, 368 Westford Hill Road, Ashford, CT, on Saturday, December 17, from 9 to 10 A.M. with a Church Service to take place at 10 A.M. Burial will follow in Westford Hill Cemetery, Ashford, CT. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
