Eugene Carman's Obituary
Eugene R. Carman, 83, of Willington, CT, husband of the late Sylvia J. (Anderson) Carman, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Blair Manor, Enfield, CT. He was born in Free Port, NY, son of the late Eugene B. and Myra (Johnson) Carman. Gene served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and retired from the University of Connecticut as a Research Lab Assistant III. He was a member of the Storrs Congregational Church, Mansfield Lions Club, Alpha Phi Omega, and Boy Scout Troop #82 where he was a former leader. Gene enjoyed woodworking, having built most of his house and all of the interior fixtures. He was also an avid camper, enjoyed square dancing and was a regular at the Track Nine Diner in Willington. Gene is survived by his three sons, Clifford E. Carman and his wife Ann, Kenneth A. Carman, and Keith R. Carman and his wife Lee; four grandchildren, Samuel Carman and his wife Allyson, Audrey, Michael and Kaitlyn Carman; and a great granddaughter, Adella Carman. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 4-6 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 6 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the Mansfield Lions Club, P.O. Box 543, Mansfield Center, CT 06250.
