Florence Brisson's Obituary
Florence “Flossie” Brisson, 84, peacefully passed on Saturday, August 5, 2017. She was born on September 6, 1932 in Portland, Maine, daughter of the late Wallace and Mildred (Lappin) Maroon. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Brisson on August 23, 2006, and her daughter, Sarah Gianantoni on May 17, 2014. She graduated Portland High Class of 1950, and married Don Brisson on August 11, 1951. They were married for 55years. She worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Portland, Maine prior to her marriage, and ran the “Friendship Kitchen” in Stafford Springs, CT for 20 years. The best years of her life included her husband, children, grandchildren, soup kitchen work, and helping the needy. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ojeda and spouse Carlos, Pat Kloppenburg and spouse Bernie, and Laura Goff and spouse Alex; two sons, Wally Brisson and spouse Kathie, and Kevin Brisson; eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Special thanks to all the nuns, nurses, aides, and staff at St. Joseph’s Residence for their loving care and endless acts of kindness to Flossie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Residence Chapel, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, CT. A reception will follow the Mass at St. Joseph’s Residence. Private burial will take place at St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, Flossie’s wishes are for donations to St. Joseph's Residence “Little Sisters of the Poor”, 1365 Enfield St, Enfield, CT 06082.
