Anita, Rachel, and Jared, I'm so sorry I can't be there today since I am recovering from an illness. But I want to tell you how impressed I am with your family! Yes, you had a remarkable mother, who was so proud of all of you. She was quite something with her passions, wit and all her accomplishments! P.S. I loved the photo of her skiing!!! WHAAAT!!! So cool! Your commitment to your mom through all the years of caregiving in Oneonta so that she could be 'independent' and live her best life has been so selfless. Rachel, I hope you recognize the role you had in extending your mother's quality of life! And for you Jared, to frequently travel to see her and give her the opportunity to continue to be herself! Anita, Irene told me that she was always proud of your resilience and you pursuing your passions! Thank you all for taking care of her and bringing her to Connecticut for our weddings. She was definitely a prized guest and it is a cherished memory! Much love, Gail
Florence was the on Board of Ed. when I was hired. I was very nervous, and when she asked where I did my student teaching, I said it was at Norwich Free Academy. She broke into one of her bright smiles and said she'd been a student there. I was no longer terrified, feeling that I had a friend on the board. She has been such a strong supporter of education and the arts in Stafford. She will be sorely missed.
