Floyd Baxter's Obituary
Floyd E. "Joe" Baxter, 77, of Orcuttville Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (Lanagan) Baxter, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2008 surrounded by his family at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Stafford, CT, son of the late Arthur and Bertha (Dansereau) Baxter. Joe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Yankee Sheet Metal in Hartford, and then worked for the Town of Stafford as a building department inspector. Joe was a member of St. Edward Parish, past Grand Knight and member of the Rev. Felix J. O'Neil Knights of Columbus Council #1395, a member of the Rev. Bernard McGurk Assembly No. 2190 4th Degree Sir Knight, Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, former president of the KACEY Club for 18 years, and a former president of the Stafford Senior Center. Joe is survived by his three children, Deborah L. Siebert and her husband Dennis, Gary E. Baxter and his wife Jackie-Lyn, and Patti A. Maher and her husband Thomas; five very special grandchildren, Kaalyn, Krista, Jordan, Joshua, and Kelly; a brother, Albert Baxter and his wife Jean; a brother-in-law, Robert Lanagan and his wife Joann; five sisters-in-law, Virginia Baxter, Pat Baxter, Yvonne Lanagan, Lillian Kelly and her husband James, and Rita Driesch; and many special nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008, with a procession forming by 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2-5 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
