Frances M. Zemek's Obituary
Frances M. Zemek, 88, of Willington, CT and Mansfield, CT, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Charles and Theresa (Bartek) Zemek. Frances graduated from Windham High School in 1943. She later attended classes at a regional business school. Her initial employment was for the American Thread Company in Willimantic, CT, but the largest portion of her working career was with the Wilcox and Reynolds Insurance Company in Mansfield, CT. In her retirement, she did volunteer work for Johnson Memorial and Rockville General Hospitals. Frances was a communicant of St. Joseph and St. Mary Catholic Churches in Eagleville, CT and Coventry, CT. She was also an active member of St. Germains Guild and the Legion of Mary. Her leisure and hobby interests after retirement included outdoor walking, gardening, and visiting with local relatives and friends. She had many house pets over the years, and was supportive of animal rescue and adoption organizations. Frances is survived by her two brothers, Charles Zemek and his wife Betty, and Thomas Zemek and his wife Shirley; three nephews and one niece, Roger, Gary, and Joseph Zemek, and Laura Quinn and her husband Kenneth; two great nephews, Nicholas Zemek and Joseph Richards; and several cousins. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 8:30-9:30 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
