Francis Ference's Obituary
Francis F. Ference, 87, of Cooper Lane, Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Josephine Alba (Cercena) Ference, passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Andrew, Jr. and Julia (Sorokey) Ference. Fran was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, and retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a foreman. He was a member of St. Edward Parish, the Italian Benefit Society, and the Stafford Senior Center. Fran is survived by his daughter, Judith Saethre and her husband Halvdan of California; two brothers, Andrew Ference III, and Raymond Ference and his wife Carol, of all Stafford Springs, CT; a sister, Dorothy Martin of California; brother-in-law, Edward “Bob” Cercena; sister-in-law, Lottie Cercena; dear friend, Louise Scussel, all of Stafford Springs, CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William Ference. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
