Francis "Frank" J. Swiatek's Obituary
Francis “Frank” J. Swiatek, age 87, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on January 8, 2024. He was born on July 14, 1936 in Meriden, CT, to the late Francis Joseph, Sr. and Edith (Ulbrich) Swiatek. Frank was a beloved husband of Lyn Swiatek for 65 years, and a loving father to his son Steven Swiatek and his wife Sherry, and his daughter Amy Swiatek. He was also a proud grandfather to Timothy Swiatek and fiancee Taylor Elkins, Michael Swiatek, Cory Gallo, and a cherished son, James Joseph Swiatek, who preceded him in death. He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and John Swiatek. Frank had a passion for inventing and held several patents as an inventor and patent holder. He had a long and successful career at CUNO/3M, starting as a lab technician in Meriden, CT, and working his way up to Plant Manager in Stafford Springs, CT. Throughout his professional journey, Frank had the opportunity to travel the world, working on manufacturing startups for the company in Brazil, France, Japan, Russia, and Australia. His filter-related inventions were widely recognized and patented. Frank's dedication to innovation never waned, and he continued to reengineer things up until his final days. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Frank had a variety of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed frequent trips to Mohegan Sun Casino with his wife and dear friends, Lillian Barber and Gigi Carlow, among others. He also participated in the neighborhood summer card game tournaments, where he and a neighbor held the title of running champs. Frank took immense pride in tending to his immaculate garden, offering guidance to others from atop the deck. Frank Swiatek's military service was with the Army National Guard. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 9:00-10:00 AM, with a prayer service to take place at 10:00 AM, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the American SIDS Institute, 528 Raven Way, Naples, FL 34110.
