Francis J. Galica's Obituary
Francis John Galica, 93, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late John F. and Sophie (Naglack) Galica. Frankie served our country in the United States Army during World War II, where he was wounded in Belgium and received a Purple Heart. He married the love of his life, Annie Mae (Philpott), and lived in Burlington, NC from 1947 to 1956, then moved his family to Stafford Springs, CT. Frankie worked as an outside electrician. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping in Jamestown, RI. He was also a member of St. Edward Parish, and the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion. Frankie is survived by his daughter, Brenda; son, John and his wife Gloria; five grandchildren, Teresa, Deana, Jared, Nicole, and Ashley; 10 great grandchildren; a former son-in-law; and two former daughters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Annie Mae; and 13 brothers and sisters. His funeral will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
