Francoise “Fran” Schwanda, 75, of Willington, CT passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in St. Jacques, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Eugene and Rita (Parent) Gilbert. Fran worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital for 33 years as a receptionist in the emergency department. She enjoyed NASCAR racing, UCONN women’s and men’s basketball, spending time with her family, and doing crossword puzzles. Her home cooked meals will be greatly missed. Fran is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Rob Schwanda; two daughters, Joanne Clermont and her husband Jeff, and Karen Sylvester and her husband Zach; four grandchildren, Renee Rose and her husband Sebastian, Haley Clermont, Blake Sylvester and Logan Sylvester; her sister, Helen Dittrich; her brother, Robert Gilbert and his wife Sue; and many nieces and nephews.
