I was married to Gary for 18 years and we shared a love for animals both domestic and feral (along with a few horses and cows...and then there were the geese lol!) Oh the stories! Gary started his ACO career in Windsor Locks after we had an encounter with 2 roaming dogs while biking. At the time he was working with the CT Humane Society. Janet (WL ACO) took Gary in under her wings and the rest, as they say, is history. I joined Gary many many times on calls to rescue animals and grew to know the ACO community very well. It was the norm for us to feed and clean the kennels together and I can say we had our fair share of fostering and nursing kittens during the Spring! Gary was also a member of the Enfield Fish & Game in addition to starting his own business rescuing wildlife. He had his hands in many pots! I am very happy to have read all the tributes and love sent his way upon his passing. I will always be grateful for the beautiful memories.
