Genevieve Drake's Obituary
Genevieve (Linonis) Drake, 90, of Poquonock, CT, beloved wife of the late Elliott Drake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in the comfort of her home.
Born in Hartford, CT, Genevieve was the daughter of the late Peter and Stacia (Swistak) Linonis. She devoted many years of her life to caring for others as a certified nursing assistant at Mountain View Nursing Home, a career that reflected her compassionate, selfless nature and deep commitment to helping those in need.
Genevieve found great joy in spending summer vacations with her family at the beaches of Connecticut and Rhode Island, celebrating holidays with family, and going to the casino with her grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Windsor, CT, and a devoted member of its Ladies Guild. She was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, UConn Huskies, and the Boston Celtics, and enjoyed watching recreational activities, including stock car racing, with her children.
A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Genevieve is survived by her five children: Brian Drake and his wife Deborah, Bruce Drake, Joanne Drake, Alan Drake, and Thomas Drake. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Abigail, and Elizabeth Drake; her beloved great-grandchildren, Hudson and Harper; and her sister, Eleanor Bourdon. In addition to her husband, Elliott, she was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Linda Drake.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1747 Poquonock Ave., Windsor, CT. Burial will take place at Windsor Veterans Cemetery, Windsor, CT.
