George Lirot's Obituary
George Edward Lirot, 77, of Armitage Road, Ashford, CT, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010. He was born in Meriden, CT to the late Katherine (Flynn) Lirot and Arthur V. Lirot. George is survived by his wife, Mary (Sampugna) Lirot; brother, Arthur F. Lirot; three children, Mary Lirot-Mejza and her husband Daniel, Georgianna "Gigi" Lirot, and Westford Lirot and his wife Erin; and six grandchildren, Jessica, Katherine, Jacob, Shannon, Lukas and Haeley. George was a U.S. Army Veteran, studied engineering at UConn, played football for the semi-pro Meriden Polish Falcons, and was self employed in the construction business. He was also a member of both St. Philip the Apostle Church in Ashford, CT and St. Edward Church in Stafford Springs, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT (Please meet at the Church). Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Middletown, CT. Calling hours are on Friday from 5-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
