George A. Pallanck's Obituary
George A. Pallanck, 93, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Stafford Springs, son of Victorio and Isabelle (Miller) Pallanck. He served in the Navy during the Korean conflict as an Engineman Second Class. He then worked at various jobs until he made his career at General Dynamics Electric Boat division for 35 years as an electrician and then as an electrician foreman and finally as an electrician general foreman, where he was affectionately called the Silver Fox. In his younger years, George was a skilled baseball player, bowler, and pool player. In his later years, he was an avid golfer. Throughout his life, he closely followed the New York Yankees and New York Giants, as well as the UCONN Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. Grandpa George always enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s events. He was preceded in death by his parents Victorio and Isabelle; his former wives, Elsie (Fikiet) (mother of his children Robert, Barry and Karen (Barnes)), and Susan (Marvonek), his sister Shirley (Marvonek) and his stepdaughter Jane Rossi. George is survived by his two brothers, James and Donald, and his wife, Marylee; three children, Robert and his partner, Jean Delehanty, of Windsor, CT, Barry and his wife, Patti, and Karen and her husband, John, of Stafford Springs; his stepdaughters Susan Furey and her husband Tom, of Enfield, CT and Laurie Sherren and her husband David of Massachusetts; and his son in law, Vincent Rossi, of North Fort Myers, FL. He also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, Alyson Haines and her husband, Kenny, Gregory Pallanck, Adam Pallanck and his wife, Jen, Kyle Pallanck and his partner, Jackie Schreiber, Kelsey Barnes, Jessica Barnes, Kara Bolf and her husband, Steve, Kevin Rossi, Matthew Sherren, Sydney Sherren, TJ Furey and his partner, Whitney, and Michael Furey and his wife, Kelly; and ten great grandchildren. A special thanks to Eileen of Visiting Nurse and Health Services of Connecticut, who provided efficiency and comfort to all of us. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with military honors in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT will be private.
