George W. Sawn, Sr., 75, of Willington, CT, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2007 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was born in Kearney, NJ, son of the late Otis S., Sr. and Mildred (Champlin) Sawn. George was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and worked as a self-employed mechanical engineer. He was a member of Bethany Assembly of God in Agawam, MA, the American Modeling Association, the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the American Whaling Masters. He was also an avid model airplane builder and private pilot. George is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Georgianna Sawn of Willington, CT; two children, Carol Lorenzetti and her husband Joseph of Stafford Springs, CT, and George W. Sawn, Jr. of Enfield, CT; three grandchildren, Julie Lorenzetti, and Jonathan and Jacquelyn Sawn; three step children, Laurie Richardson and her husband John of Redding, CT, Sharie Bruno of Wisconsin, and Danny Bell of Guilford, CT; five step grandchildren, Julie and Jack Richardson, Melissa Bruno, and Alexander and Emily Bell; a brother, Otis S. Sawn, Jr. of Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Billings Hill Cemetery, East Longmeadow, MA. A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
