Geraldine Ehret's Obituary
Geraldine (Farra) Ehret, 84, of Willington, CT, passed away peacefully at Douglas Manor on Monday, January 10, 2011. Geraldine was born in Stafford Springs, CT, to the late Henry and Anna (Tormey) Farra on September 1, 1926. She lived in Willington, CT her whole life where she met and married the love of her life Edward Ehret on April 23, 1949. She graduated from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School and worked at the University of Connecticut as the president’s secretary until she retired. She was a lifetime member of the Willington Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a parishioner of St. Jude Parish, and member of the Willington Senior Center, and Willington Public Library, where she liked to volunteer. Geraldine loved to sing, spend her summers at the family pond, watching the birds and tending to her gardens. She also enjoyed cruises, family vacations to Cape Cod and Girls Weekends to Sturbridge. She was preceded by her husband of 38 years Edward; and a brother, Eugene. Geraldine is survived by her four children, Mark Ehret, Denise Gantick and her husband James, Ann Simpson and her husband David, and Lori Linsley and her husband Charlie, all residents of Willington, CT on family land. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and four great grandchildren whose artwork you would find displayed on the fridge. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Jude Church, Old Farms Rd., Willington, CT. Burial will follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. Calling hours are on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the Willington Public Library, 7 Ruby Rd., Willington, CT 06279, or to the Willington Hill Fire Department, 24 Old Farms Rd., Willington, CT 06279.
