Gertrude Chappell's Obituary
Gertrude L. Chappell, 87, of Buckley Highway, Union, CT, died Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. She was born in Sturbridge, MA, daughter of the late George and Arselia (Brodeur) Pion. Gertrude retired from the University of Connecticut as secretary for the continuing education department. Gertrude is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Maurice G. Chappell of Union, CT; a sister-in-law, Doris Pion of St. Petersburg, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Pion. Funeral services with burial in Union Center Cemetery, Union, CT, will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Union Volunteer Fire Department, 1049 Buckley Highway, Union, CT 06076.
