Gilbert Farrington's Obituary
Gilbert T. Farrington, 64, of Willington, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 12, 2009 surrounded by his family. Gil was born in Willimantic, CT and resided in Willington, CT since childhood. He worked as a diesel mechanic for Tri State Diesel before his illness. Gil loved talking about engines, having lunch every Wednesday with his buddy Leo, fishing with his son Shawn and friends Bobby and Stanley, and sharing New York stories with Chuck. He loved to cook and garden and share the bounty with others. His grandchildren, Brittney, Emily, and Shawn Joseph owned a very special place in his heart. Gil leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Penny (Clarke) Farrington; son, Shawn Farrington; and daughter, Kathleen Greene and her former husband Jack Green; his mother, Cecilia Farrington; brother, Robert Farrington and his wife Pamela; sister-in-law, Bonnie King and her partner Gene Stanton; brother-in-law, Dale Clarke and his wife Carol; and a very special New York aunt, Missy. He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert Farrington. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held privately at the family's convenience. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
