Gilbert A. Wagner, Jr., 92, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of the late Alice (Allard) Wagner, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, January 22, 2011. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Gilbert A., Sr. and Lulu (Ide) Wagner. Gil was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and retired from Stafford Savings Bank as a branch manager. He also devoted his time to the Stafford Springs Cemetery Association serving as secretary and treasurer for over 40 years. Gil is survived by his son, Kurt J. Wagner and his wife Linda; two granddaughters, Lindsey and Meghan; a sister, Lucille Toth; sister-in-law, Arlene Allard; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Howard Wagner. Funeral services with burial in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately. Memorial donations may be made to the Stafford Ambulance Association, 11 Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT 06076, or to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
