Gladys P. Avery's Obituary
Gladys P. Avery, 94, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Otto and Emma (Wesley) Possardt. Gladys retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a factory worker. In her retirement, she was an avid gardener, tag-saler, and cook. She is survived by her beloved husband of 75 years, Earl; son, Wendell and his wife Vicky; daughter-in-law, Beverly; son-in-law, Brian; five grandchildren, Susan, Pamela, Daniel, Amanda, Jacquelyn, and Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Adeline and Brady; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons, Bruce and Jack; daughter, Patricia; sisters, Mildred and Ruth; and brothers, Earl and Richard. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff of St. Francis Hospital for their caring and compassion. Funeral services with burial in West Stafford Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately.
