Gladys Heck's Obituary
Gladys M. Heck, 89, of Fort Myers, FL and formerly of Union, CT, beloved wife of the late Edwin M. Heck, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2009. She was born in Somers, CT daughter of the late Willis and Hazel (Grizwold) Torrey. Gladys worked most of her life self employed on a farm, and then retired having worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Union, the Union Democratic Town Committee, and the Stafford Grange. Gladys is survived by her three children, Shirley I. Gagnon of Fort Myers, FL, George E. Heck and his wife Mabelle of Union, CT, and John L. Heck and his wife Arleen of Sherburne, NY; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Torrey and his wife Barbara, and Willis Torrey; two sisters, Dorothy Paneck and Marjorie Freeland and her husband Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services with burial in Union Center Cemetery, Union, CT, will be held privately.
