Gloria Elaine McQuaid's Obituary
Gloria Elaine McQuaid, 94, of Stafford, CT, wife of the late Richard E. McQuaid, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Evergreen Health Care Center. She was born in Stafford, CT, daughter of the late Everett and Mona (Ryder) Moulton.
Besides raising her family, Elaine traveled with her husband when he was stationed with the Air Force in the states. She later was employed at Stafford Printers, then worked for the Town of Stafford until she retired. She loved working their yard and garden, and traveling with their camping club. Elaine did find time to be an assistant Girl Scout leader, and president of the West Stafford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Above all, she immensely enjoyed spending time with her two grandsons and her great granddaughter.
Elaine is survived by her children, Cynthia Works and her husband Gerald, and Richard S. McQuaid and his wife Karen; grandchildren, Nick Works and his wife Danielle, and Colin McQuaid and his wife Karen; great granddaughter, Genevieve Works; sister, Mona Rabideau; brother, Ronald Moulton; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Gemma. She was predeceased by her daughter, Tracey McQuaid; brothers, Rufus, Leonard, and Richard Moulton; and sisters, Evelyn Pion and Goldie DeHulla.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
