Gregg Fitzgerald's Obituary
Gregg T. Fitzgerald, 43, of Old Monson Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2008 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of Ann (Mattarelli) Rosi and the late Howard L. Fitzgerald. Gregg was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and was employed by Evergreen Health Care Center as a social worker for many years. He was a member of St. Edward Parish and the Rev. Felix J. O'Neil Council #1395 Knights of Columbus. He was involved in several town committees, was part of the Alzheimer's walk and support groups, and worked for United Cerebral Palsy. Gregg is survived by his wife of 20 years, Zofia (Prochnicki) Fitzgerald; his two sons, Joshua and Jacob Prochnicki-Fitzgerald; his mother, Ann (Mattarelli) Rosi, all of Stafford Springs, CT; his brother, Thomas L. Fitzgerald and his wife Lee of Union, CT; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Waclaw and Stanislawa Prochnicki of New Britain, CT; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his step father, Anthony Rosi. His funeral will be held on Friday, July 4, 2008, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
