Harriet G. Agranoff's Obituary
Harriet Kupchik Gryk Agranoff, age 83, of Ellington, CT, entered into eternal rest on March 19, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born in New Britain, CT on March 1, 1943, daughter of the late Harry Kupchik and the late Rita Fortier Kupchik. She graduated first in her class with high honors from Plainville High School in 1961. Harriet worked as a paralegal in real estate, bankruptcy, and other legal matters for several firms, later retiring from PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Harriet enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping, home decorating. cooking, theater, fine dining, playing bingo with her mother, and doting on her grandchildren and pets.
She is survived by her beloved husband, companion, and best friend, Atty. Michael Agranoff of Ellington, CT.
She is also survived by her daughter, Lisa Malone, and her husband, Mel, of Stafford, CT; her son, Scott Gryk, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Southington, CT; her grandchildren, Brooke Malone and her fiancée, Johnpaolo Signorello, of Coventry, CT, Justin Gryk of Enfield, CT, and Jamie Gryk, of Beacon, CT; her cousin, Joseph Fortier; her sisters-in-law, Marion Daniels, Marilyn Nichols, and Jane Rimer; her best friends Connie Ravetto, Eddie Ravetto, and Sherri Anderson; and her beloved Havanese dog, Marco.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and high school sweetheart, Leonard Gryk. Leonard and Harriet raised their family in a home filled with music, love, and family celebration.
Harriet will be deeply missed. She brightened the lives of everyone she met with her calm optimism and warm conversation. She was her husband’s closest companion and brought joy to his life and to the lives of all who knew her.
There will be no formal funeral or calling hours. A Celebration of Life for Harriet will be held at Basil’s Restaurant, on Rt. 190 in Stafford, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Family and close friends are warmly invited.
