Helen Ference's Obituary
Helen R. Ference, 83, of Westford Rd., Ashford, CT, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. She was born in Eastford, CT, daughter of the late Gustav and Mary (Svantner) Rosyar. Helen was a bookkeeper for the former Rosen's Department Store in Willimantic. She was a communicant of St. Philip the Apostle Church and a member of the choir. Helen was an avid gardener who raised and sold fresh flowers on Westford Road, where neighbors knew her as 'the flower lady'. She and her beloved husband George enjoyed traveling the world. In addition to George, Helen leaves behind her a son James Ference and his wife Cathy (Kaylor) Ference of Ashford, CT; a daughter Louise Ference- Simon and her husband David Simon of Mansfield Center, CT; a son Thomas Ference of Essex Junction, VT; a grandson, Paul Ference of Ashford, CT; two sisters, Gizella St. King of Eastford, CT and Marye Navratil of Hollywood, FL; two brothers, John Rosyar of Windham, CT and Gustav Rosyar of Ashford, CT; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Jennie Ference. A funeral will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2006 with a procession forming at 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Burial will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford, CT. Calling hours are on Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Ashford Volunteer Fire Department, P.O.
