Helena Tompkins' Obituary
Helena M. Tompkins, 80, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved wife of the late Lee Tompkins, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Parkway Pavilion, Enfield, CT. She was born in Houlton, ME, daughter of the late Edison and Marjorie (Harris) Carr. Helena retired from the Co-op food store having worked in the deli department for many years. She is survived by her nine children, Richard Tompkins of Stafford Springs, CT, Patricia MacVane of Manchester, CT, Jenny Kunhardt and her husband Gary of South Windham, CT, Helen Kaddy and her husband Bruce of Pennsylvania, Denise Riley of Stafford Springs, CT, Colleen Schultz and her husband Glen of Rocky Hill, CT, Stephen Tompkins and his wife Lori of Virginia, and David and Richie Tompkins of California; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Putnam of Maine; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son; daughter; and three brothers. Funeral services with burial in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately.
