Henry A. O'Neal Jr.'s Obituary
Henry A. O’Neal, Jr., 74, of Tolland, CT, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Woodlake at Tolland, after a long battle with Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). He was born in Waterville, ME, son of the late Henry A., Sr. and Audrey (Ireland) O’Neal. He was a graduate of Stafford High School and a 1965 graduate of the University of Connecticut. Henry served in the Army National Guard for six years. An accountant for 50 years, he began his career with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell, earned his CPA (certificate # 1523) and at the age of 29 started his own firm, O’Neal & Walsh, with partner Ron Walsh in Manchester, CT. After many years he left to become comptroller at SG Milazzo & Company. He realized his passion was in public accounting and eventually reopened his own practice in Tolland, CT. At a time when most people retire, he joined the firm of Gitlin Campise, LLC in West Hartford as a partner. He loved fishing, woodworking, gardening and could fix anything. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol (Prucker) O’Neal of Tolland, CT; three children and their spouses, Susan and Michael Laliberte of Madbury, NH, Seth and Monica O’Neal of Arlington, TX, and Stephen and Olivia O’Neal of Austin, TX; five grandchildren, Bryan, Matthew, Sarah, Jackson, and Samuel; and his sister, Sheila O’Neal of Lakeland, FL.
