Henry Tetrault's Obituary
Henry Forest Tetrault, a long time resident of Stafford Springs, CT, died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at his home in Somers, CT at the age of 101. He was the husband of the late Verna Converse. The son of the late Henry N. and Alice Forest Tetrault, Henry was born on April 24, 1908 at the family home in West Stafford. He attended Stafford schools and was a member of St. Edward Church in Stafford. In addition to his beloved wife of 51 years, he was predeceased by his four brothers, Ernest, Bernard, Horace and Brother Alfred Tetrault. In 1926, Henry began work as a mail carrier from the Stafford Springs Post Office and, except for a four-year absence for his service in the Army during World War II, he carried the mail in Stafford Springs until his retirement in 1963. Following that retirement, Henry worked for several years at the former Mansfield Training School in Mansfield, CT. He was also a violinist and a violin teacher of considerable talent and was a devoted member of the Stafford Historical Society. Henry is survived by sisters-in-law, Priscilla Converse Couch with whom he made his home in Somers, CT, and Jeannette Tetrault of North Port, FL. Left to treasure the memories of their dear Uncle Henry are his care-givers, Ekow Acquah and Lori Couch Dunnebier of Somers, CT; Dr. Elizabeth Couch McCord-Duncan, of Tennessee; Claudia Couch Steele of Vernon, CT; Ruth Couch Wilson of Willimantic, CT; Ernest Tetrault, Jr. of Brady, TX; David Tetrault of Stafford, CT; Rhea Branagan of Niantic, CT; Bernadette Kayan of Sanford, NC; Alice Monticello of Storrs, CT; Francis Tetrault of Enfield, CT; Robert Tetrault of Rutland, MA; Richard Tetrault; Muriel Constantino, Jacqueline Tetrault, and JoAnn Bouchard all of North Port, Florida; Alan Tetrault of Stafford, CT; and Mary Jane Bourchard of Watkins, MN; as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 from 11:30-12:30 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 P.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT.
