Irene Goodell's Obituary
Irene R. Goodell, 87, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Gordon C. Goodell, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late John and Anna (Canestrari) Rui. Irene was a member of St. Edward Parish, the Italian Benefit Society Ladies Auxiliary where she cooked for many years, the Stafford Senior Center, and was an avid fan of UConn Women's Basketball. She is survived by her two children, Earl Goodell and his wife Melissa, and Donna Hosey and her husband Shawn, all of Stafford Springs, CT; four grandchildren, Jason Goodell and his wife Suzie, Christopher Goodell and his wife Megan, and Jordan and Brendan Hosey; a great granddaughter, Patience Goodell; her sister and best friend, Linda Argenta; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Esther and Ronnie DaRos, Beverly and John Ference, and Diane and Richard Whitehouse; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
