Irving "Bill" Melnick's Obituary
Irving William “Bill” Melnick, 84, of Benedict Drive, South Windsor, CT, beloved husband of the late Serena (Steinberg) Melnick, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Nathan and Rose (Shulman) Melnick. Bill was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and retired from Prudential as an insurance agent. He was a member of Masonic Sequin Level Lodge No. 140 A.F. & A.M. Bill is survived by his two children, Stuart Melnick of Stamford, CT, and Sherilyn Scalley and her husband Brian of Ellington, CT; three grandchildren, Meaghen Scalley of Hamden, CT, Justin Scalley of Ellington, CT, and Samantha Melnick of Glastonbury, CT; brother-in-law, Robert Steinberg of South Windsor, CT; and his grand-dog, Harley. The family would like to thank Doris and Miles Weinberg, Joan and Bob Hornish, Jeffery Hornish, Ali Stoltz, Father Bill Burns, Sid Druckman, Al Ahearn, and Bob Shea for their friendship over the years.
