Jack O. Williams' Obituary
Jack Oliver Williams, 74, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of Alice (Smith) Williams passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 16, 2017. He was born in McKeesport, PA, on October 20, 1942, son of the late Jess and Mary (McGarrity) Williams. He moved to Connecticut just after he graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School (PA) in 1962. He built his home on Stafford Street in 1967 where he resided the rest of his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, MaryAnn and husband, Rich Locario of Apopka, FL, Andrew and wife, Alicia Williams of Oakland, TN, Edie and husband, Leon Bonneville of Vernon, Scott and wife, Tina of Tolland; eleven grandchildren, Nathan, Noah, and SamuelLocario, Oliver and Elijah Williams, Jessica, Brittany, Megan, and Eric Bonneville and Annabelle and Catherine Smith; two brothers, Ronald Sr. and wife, Linda Williams of Coventry, David and wife, Debby, of Ocala, FL. Ron Jr. and wife, Candy Williams and their children Ronnie, Justin and Mindy and Carol Peckham of Tolland, CT, who held a very special place in Jack’s heart, as did so many extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his son, Charles, sister, Shirley Williams, and brothers James and Charles Williams. Jack made friends with everyone he met. He started Stafford Olympic Semi-Pro Football in the early 1960’s, followed by Stafford Little League. Jack retired in 2001 as Deputy Chief of Stafford Springs Fire Department and was still an active volunteer firefighter. He served as a Fire Protection Supervisor at Stafford Motor Speedway for 51 years. He loved his horses. Jack was a diehard Pittsburgh Steelers, UCONN Huskies and racing fan, but nothing could compare to how much he supported and rooted for his most loved team, his grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 5 to 8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Ellington Wesleyan Church, 276 Crystal Lake Rd., Ellington, CT. Burial in Stafford Springs Cemetery will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ellington Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 276 Crystal Lake Road, Ellington, CT 06029.
