Jacob J. Zelonka,'s Obituary
Jacob “Jake” J. Zelonka, Jr., 78, of Willington, CT, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Mt. Sinai Hospital for Special Care, Hartford, CT. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Jacob J., Sr. and Anna (Kreydatus) Zelonka. Jake was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict, and retired from Home Pride Provisions as a butcher. He was a member of Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, V.F.W. Post No. 9990 of Stafford, the Italian Benefit Society, and the Stafford Fish and Game Club. Jake is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Arlene S. (Rose) Zelonka; brother, Andrew Zelonka and his wife Joan; two sisters, Anna Hurchala, and Elizabeth “Betty” Martorelli and her husband Robert; five sisters-in-law, Melba Zelonka, Roberta Trapp, Mary Carberry, Diane Williams and her husband Tom, and Lynn Wheeler and her husband Roger; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Zelonka; and siblings John, Katherine, and Helen. His funeral will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011, with a procession forming by 8 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
