James Zwiener
Sorry to hear about James Eidson’s passing. Please accept our condolences.
This caused me to think back a few years. I believe I meet Eidson during our 7 grade year in KC, Mo. My mother had remarried and we moved into a new school district.
We had a lot of fun, getting into trouble as kids would do. We rode our bikes everywhere.
This was in the middle 1950’s so Rock and Roll was really getting started. So we listened to a lot of 45 records and the radio. That is in-between shooting at birds out Eidson’s parents upstairs window. We stayed friends up through high school and college. James attended Westport HS, but eventually attended Raytown HS when his parents moved. We still got together at times to play pickup football and go to the various pools in KC.
I remember one very traumatic event occurred when Eidson had a wreck and his car turned over. His date was killed in that wreck. That is something you really don’t get over.
Sadly I had lost track of Eidson for a number of years, but from the notes, he seems to have been very busy with kids, grandkids, scouting, and farming.
I remember Eidson’s father very well, he was large, tall, and had a deep voice and a deeper laughter. As I recall he worked at the BOP plant, in KC Ka. His mother was quiet and more reserved, and always had her front room immaculate. No kids allowed.
