Thank you for your service to Scouting and to Camp Pomperaug.
Thanks Jim for all that you did to keep Camp Pomperaug a special place for all who loved it, especially the scouts and other campers who will always remember their time there.
Jim, you will be missed. My thanks and appreciation for your love of Camp Pomperaug. Your passion for the environment and attention to the Camp was always evident. May the great Scoutmaster watch over you until we meet again.
Jim, we appreciated all that you did for the camp, all year round. We, as the Children's Burn Camp, used the camp every July, in addition to the work parties. You were always a helping hand to us, and we always saw the love that you had for the camp and all that enjoyed it. Thanks for your service to our country in the military, and may you enjoy eternal happiness.

Jim, you have been the keeper of this very special camp which has left an indelible mark on hundreds of burn survivors. Your commitment, vigilance and love will be forever remebered by the fortunate people who got to walk, explore & grow on your "adopted home". Your burn camp family will miss you but certainly won't ever forget all you have done for us. Thanks for your service to our country and God Bless.
Mucho love & respect. The Burn Camp Ropes Staff
Mr. Steele thank you for your kindness. I will miss you at the mailbox.
Jim,
You were a friend to all. I will miss our long discussions on how to right the wrongs of the world, and your coffee on those chilly mornings. Rest in peace, my friend, and thank you for the good times.
