Janet Golab's Obituary
Janet (Zelonka) Golab, 59, of Stafford Springs, CT and Jacksonville, FL, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2012 at Blair Manor, Enfield, CT, after a long illness. Jan was born in Danville, VA on April 9, 1952, daughter of Melba (Morris) Zelonka and the late John A. Zelonka. She was raised in Stafford Springs, CT and was a graduate of Stafford High School. Jan is best known as the red-haired bartender at the former Munn's Pub, and as their DJ, Jammin Jan. Along with her father, they co-owned JJ's Closet in Ashford, CT. Jan was carefree spirit and lived life to the fullest. Her bright smile and infectious zest for life will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Melba Zelonka; a sister, Rebecca "Becky" Nash; a brother, Gary Zelonka; her nieces, Sara Zelonka, Layne Nash, and Paige Nash; nephews, John Nash and Randy Zelonka; great nephew, Grayson; a host of very close friends and family; and her beloved dog Angie. She was predeceased by her son, Rodney Irish. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 2-4 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 4 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT, will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
