Janet E. Peterson's Obituary
Janet Elizabeth (Hetu) Peterson, 81, of Union, CT, daughter of the late Alfred and Beatrice (Bates) Hetu, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Vero Beach Hospice. She was born in Putnam, CT, attended grammar school in Union and graduated from Stafford High School in 1961. Janet volunteered and served on many town boards and committees. She retired from the Cooperative Extension Service at the University of Connecticut after 36 years of service. She enjoyed dancing, camping, motorcycling and winters in Florida. She leaves two daughters, Michele Sienna and her husband Dennis, and Jennifer Peterson and her life partner Eric Chabot; two granddaughters, Kansas and Jordan Sienna; niece, Cheryl Cyr; nephew, Jeffrey Swift; and many cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Nathan Swift; and her lifelong friend, and love of her life, David Eaton. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral services and burial in Union Center Cemetery, Union, CT will be private.
