Jean G. Smith's Obituary
Jean G. Smith, 83, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Philip and Dorothy (Ducharme) Gilman. Jean had worked for many years and as a secretary/medical assistant for Dushyant Parikh, MD. She enjoyed traveling to Maine to visit friends, and going on cruises with her husband. She also was an avid reader, liked to collect anything with frogs, and enjoyed bird watching from her porch. Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robert J. Smith, Jr.; son, Michael Smith; grandson, Dakota Smith; sister, Frances Bordonero and her husband Guy; niece, Rachel Bordonero Racond and her husband Bruce; and her grand-dogs, Jack and Albert. She was predeceased by her son, Patrick J. Smith. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 1:30-2:30 PM, with a prayer service to take place at 2:30 PM, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St. Edward Church, 27 Church St., Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
